The $200/month plan on Claude Code sounds expensive, but in fact is it's heavily subsidised.

I've been using GLM 5 priced per-million tokens (hosted, not via z.ai subscription) and I can easily rack up bills of $50+ PER DAY just working on side projects.

Anthropic charges $200/month, but their costs are far more than that. The only way to control it is via rate limits. I expect we're going to see more and more tightening of the limits.
