PARA Method of Note Taking

Divide notes into 4 categories

  • Projects
  • Areas
  • Resources
  • Archives

Projects contain actionable things that you are working on, which have a clear end point. Example: "Hire a Python Developer"

Areas contain broad areas of responsibility and long term goals, but don't involve actionable tasks. Eg: Technical Hiring

Resources are content notes that relate to any topic of interest. The topic may or may not relate to any project or area. But many times notes in resources might get linked to something in a project or area. Eg: How to take notes

Archives store any other topics that are not needed anymore but you still want to keep around for reading once in a while
