There are two ways of capturing information. I call them Essays and Notes.
Essays are long form articles, that cover a topic in enough detail that a person new to the topic can read from top to bottom to get an understanding of a topic.
Notes are short. A notes describes a single idea. Notes require linking to other notes in order to make sense of the broader topic.
Essays are all about the content. Notes are all about the linkages,
Essays guide the reader along a predefined path of thought. This helps them make sense of a topic in a systematic way without getting lost.
Notes have a high density of cross linkages. This helps the reader traverse different paths through the content and there is a greater chance they will discover a new insight because of a new path of traversal.
