Whoa, whoa, whoa. The darling of the Python ecosystem, the team that brought us ruff, uv, ty and pyx and forever changed the python tooling landscape is now joining OpenAI.
Pretty sure all these tools will be deeply integrated into Codex, which is good news for python developers.
Also a validation of Astral's (the company behind these tools) business model. For those who don't know, Astral is a venture funded company.
I'll admit it, when I first read that it's going to be venture funded, I couldn't figure out what the business model was going to be, or the exit strategy. But obviously Accel, Andreessen Horowitz and the other investors saw something there and this exit is just reward for their placing their faith in the company.
